My parents were very creative in everything they did to feed and clothe a busy household of five children. My mom painted, sewed clothes and was a beautician. I have loved painting and drawing from a very young age. I began to blossom into an artist when I was a teenager. I took a Drawing From The Right side of the Brain class and it changed my drawing skills dramatically. As an adult I began to use watercolor paints, oil paints and then acrylic.
I use different mediums to achieve the result I need to get. I enjoy the learning process and so I am always trying something new. I find that it expands my mind and who I am as an artist. My mediums vary from watercolor to oil paints and acrylic. I also love to draw, write and create jewelry too. If it's creative I want to learn about it.
I believe that it is better to attempt something great and fail than attempt to do nothing and succeed. I am inspired by exploration, new discoveries and fearless artistic wandering. Theodore Roosevelt said, "Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure...than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." I will continue to put myself out there and explore, paint, write, make jewelry and enjoy life fearlessly.
